Special Olympics World Games Achievement

Congratulations to learner Dominic for Outstanding Achievement

Woking learner Dominic Hsu took part in the 16th Special Olympics World Games which took place in Berlin in June. This is the world's largest inclusive sporting event in 2023 with more than 7,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities competing across 26 sports over nine days.

Dominic, who has been cycling since he was four took part in the cycling races for the GB team in the Games. When interviewed by the ITV news he said 'I'm focused and looking forward to going on the track to do my best'.

Dominic, attends a variety of Supported Learning courses at the Woking centre and also works at the British Heart Foundation in Woking.

Learners attending Helen Woods Every English course at Camberley, have been researching the games and wrote messages to encourage him and show their support. They were excited and inspired by his achievements, it is an amazing experience.
