Supported Learning and their Fantastic Achievements

Mosaic EggsTutors Suzette Hoare Brown and Lisa Morzaria showcased their learners work in the Harvey Gallery, Guildford as part of the Surrey Artist Open Studios.

Lisa Morzaria's Creative Art and Craft learners exhibited some amazing abstract soaps sculptures, inspired by the Tate Modern. Suzette Hoare-Browns learners exhibited mosaics. Learner George Welch made these beautiful Fabergé eggs. George commented, 'I saw a newspaper article about Fabergé eggs and really liked them, so I decided to make a 3D egg, it was quite tricky to get them all to stick and not slide around'.


Queens Platinum Jubilee

Supported learnerLeading up to the special extended bank holiday weekend to mark the Queens Platinum Jubilee, Camberley learners participated in a range of activities to mark the occasion. Helen Woods Seasonal Cookery learner Dom was proud to show the Jubilee celebration cake he had made, clearly showing his baking skills. Creative Textiles learners made handmade this beautiful bunting out of reclaimed designer end of range fabric samples.

Sue Dingley's Performing Arts and Exploring the Past and Present learners recreated an old-fashioned street party to celebrate. All learners showed confidence in performing and everyone joined in with the community spirit to make the occasion very enjoyable.


Enterprise success

Learners attending creative courses have clearly expressed theirLearner work creativity and learnt a variety of techniques to make items to sell for their chosen charities. A total of £507.45 has been raised for eight charities, which is a fantastic achievement. Julia Roberts-Brown Guildford Pottery Enterprise learners raised £304.10 for five charities chosen by the learners – Smile Train & RSPCA, Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, Make A Wish and Antony Noland trust. Lene Ryden's Sunbury Pottery Enterprise learners raised £137.50 for two charities, Alzheimer's Society and Help the Heroes and Lisa Morzaria's Creative Arts and Crafts learners raised £65.85 for the Guildford Disability Challengers charity. Guildford Pottery Enterprise learners made beautiful garden ornaments.
