Surrey's Community Champions

Be part of the conversation

Last month, we held a special event to honour some amazing individuals who make Surrey a remarkable place to live and work. Saj Hussain, Chair of Surrey County Council, hosted the Community Champions Reception. The event celebrated residents who have made significant contributions to their communities. They tirelessly and selflessly put the needs of others above their own.

Surrey's Community Champions were nominated by county councillors who see firsthand the difference these residents make. Whether that be supporting local initiatives, assisting those in need, or bring positivity to their community. Each nominee has shown extraordinary commitment to making Surrey a better place. Their selflessness and dedication remind us of the power of community spirit.

Join the Community Champions Facebook group

We've recently created a Community Champions Facebook group to encourage engagement and two-way conversations. This group aims to:

  • Provide a safe space where people can ask us questions
  • Help us share local information with the community
  • Discuss important local issues

Anyone is welcome to join. We encourage you to get involved, share your thoughts, and stay connected.

We chose to make the group private to foster an environment where people can ask questions without fear of public criticism. We're building a community that's open to everyone, where robust discussions can happen without fear of reprisal.

If you're active in your community and want to be part of the conversations, join the Facebook group today.
