Future proof your home
Surrey County Council have teamed up with home energy experts Furbnow to support residents in upgrading their homes with energy saving 'retrofit' measures through an innovative Home Energy Improvement 'One-Stop Shop' pilot scheme.
The service, which is funded by the UK government's Local Energy Advice Demonstrator (LEAD) competition, aims to help residents that can afford to invest in long-term energy saving measures, such as insulation, solar panels, and air source heat pumps, to access a qualified Retrofit Assessor and trusted installers, offering end-to-end support along the journey to improving the energy efficiency of their home.
Benefits of energy saving measures include:
- Lowering energy bills
- Making homes more modern, resilient and future-proofed
- Improving the thermal comfort of homes, reducing damp, mould and associated health issues
- Reducing carbon emissions from the residential energy sector
The first 245 eligible homes can access a subsidised whole Home Energy Plan, providing a comprehensive property assessment and personalised roadmap based on your household priorities and budget.
Residents will receive a recommendation of upgrades and a detailed estimate of benefits including energy savings, carbon reductions, and impact on property value. The plan will also include advice for moving the project forward, enabling households to know what to do next – and in what order – to upgrade their homes.
If residents choose to accept one or more of the recommendations and go ahead with the installation from Furbnow, they may be eligible for a further discount on project support services.
Where possible, the service will seek to use local installers, in turn boosting the growing local retrofit market and supporting Surrey's economy.
