Join in on making a positive impact on Guildford
The new ZERO premises officially opened on April 20th at 168 High Street, Guildford, with 880 people through the door on the opening day.
Building on the success of the original ZERO premises, and with a £350,000 National Lottery grant to help further develop impactful projects, ZERO offers a number of projects which residents in Guildford and the surrounding area can get involved with to tackle local issues. Whilst Guildford may face different challenges to other parts of the UK, it has the worst nitrogen dioxide air pollution levels in the country, has two areas in the top percentile of food poverty, and has a huge number of thermally inefficient homes which can create health issues.
The objective is to tackle these issues through solutions which provide co-benefits on the health and social fronts, whilst building the collaboration needed to lead by example in restoring nature, reducing waste and tackling climate change.
Keep your eyes peeled for the opening of the co-working space, which will offer reasonably priced co-working facilities to people working in energy, environment and climate, and striving to ensure that people in places in Surrey and beyond thrive in the face of an uncertain future.
