Represent the county with your musical talents
Surrey Arts has been running orchestras, bands and choirs in Surrey for over 50 years. With over 40 ensembles meeting weekly, there are plenty of opportunities for young people of all abilities to join a group and play with other young musicians. For more advanced players there is the challenge of playing for one of the county orchestras and bands or singing in the county choir. These groups offer the chance to play with some of the most talented young musicians in the county, and many have gone on to have successful careers in the music industry.
DanDan Fang, who participates in Surrey Youth Choir (SYC) as a Soprano 1 says: ''I feel honoured to be a part of SYC. Being part of this choir is extremely fulfilling and rewarding. Through the singing experience here, my singing has improved, and the other members and staff of the choir all are extremely encouraging and welcoming, and all the members offer their greatest efforts to support one another. There's never been a dull moment during my time in this choir, whether that's at concerts, or simply rehearsing! There really is nothing like SYC, and I have enjoyed every minute of it!''
Charlie who plays in the Surrey County Youth Orchestra said ''The experience of playing with such an exceptional orchestra is one I won't forget.''
Places are often limited and students need to play and read music at a certain level.
