Following extensive sector engagement over the past six months, Surrey Cultural Partnership (SCP) is now finalising its cultural strategy for the county. The strategy and action plan have been developed through consultation with statutory, cultural and voluntary organisations across the county, and this process has already led to new partnerships and collaborations. The strategy, which will be key to advocacy for the sector, will be shared in the New Year.
In partnership with the Community Foundation for Surrey (CFS), SCP has also completed its research into the current status of funding for arts and culture in the county. Informed by this research, CFS and SCP are now exploring opportunities to develop a new Fund for Surrey to help widen participation in arts and culture in order to benefit everyone across the county. We are delighted that the Arts Council England has supported this work through its managed funds.
Surrey Cultural Forum will take place in January once again and details will be sent out shortly.
