Scorecard for Central Surrey Voluntary Action in Elmbridge, Epsom and Ewell and Mole Valley, 2020-21, Quarter 2

Description of scorecard
1. Volunteering Overview
Table one is a bar chart that shows during the Quarter 2 period there were:
- 439 registrations with the volunteer centre
- 19 new volunteering opportunities
- 163 ongoing opportunities
- 212 referrals and in total
- 42 volunteers were placed in volunteering roles.
The half year total of volunteers placed by CSVA were 288 - these volunteers were in placements for at least 3 days. There were no registrations that required 'no further action' so all people registered received some support or referral.
2. Volunteers still in place after two months
Table two gives retrospective data for Quarter 1 which shows, 104 of the 246 volunteers placed were in placements for more than 2 months.
The key achievements in Quarter 2 (Q2) recorded by CSVA were:
- Dorking office reopened for staff. Walton on Thames is partially open for staff and volunteers. Epsom Office due to restrictions relating to the Town Hall remained closed. All volunteer interviews are carried out remotely.
- We launched a new exercise programme called 10 Today designed for older people and people living with disabilities where the participant is supported by regular weekly calls from a volunteer to take them through the programme.
- The shopping service continues in Elmbridge with 194 shopping activities carried out. This will continue as long as is needed.
- The prescription collection service in Elmbridge stopped at the end of August and an additional 63 deliveries in July and August with pharmacies now able to manage deliveries. CSVA remains on standby if needed.
- DBS and other services continued to be provided remotely by platforms such as Zoom.
3. Volunteers with Disabilities
Table 3 shows did not give any data relating to any volunteers placed with disabilities.
4. Gender of Volunteers
Table 4 shows up to Quarter 2 the majority of the volunteers placed were female where this information was recorded. Up to Q2 60% of the volunteers placed were female and 30% were male. This is not too far from the proxy population which shows 48% of the local population is male and 52% is female.
5. Ethnicity of Volunteers
Table 5 displays information about the ethnicity of volunteers. The majority of the local population is white and white other. There were a lot of unknowns for this category. The main reported placements were white other which seemed disproportionate to the ethnic make-up of the local population.
6. Age of Volunteers
Table 6 reported the age of the volunteers. The categories of ages were, 15 to 18, 19 to 25, 26 to 44, 45 to 64 and 65+. The biggest population groups in the locality are 26 to 44 and 45 to 64 and the table shows the majority of the volunteers placed were from these age groups.
Corporate volunteering
This table shows no corporate volunteering was undertaken in Q2 or the previous quarter.
One-off volunteering
This table showed in and up to Q2 there was no one-off volunteering activities.

Volunteering overview
Table one is a bar chart that shows during the Quarter 2 period there were 434 registrations with the volunteer centre, 25 new volunteering opportunities, 608 ongoing opportunities, 357 referrals and in total 71 volunteers were placed in volunteering roles. These volunteers were in placements for at least 3 days and more. There were 8 registrations that required 'no further action' so all other people registered received some support or referral.
Volunteers in place for two months or more
Table two for Quarter 2 shows no significant data.
The key achievements in Quarter 2 (Q2) recorded by VASWS were:
- Reopened Volunteer Centre: made it COVID safe, training new volunteers
- Welcome to Volunteering: 5 week project using 12 WTV volunteers allowing them to host their first outdoor event of the year -offering ongoing support. Also supporting Watts Gallery and Care Ashore as many of their volunteers are older and yet to return. Using the WTV volunteers has diversified their volunteer workforce.
- Networks, Volunteering Fair, Volunteer Buddies and Social Prescription: Network meetings have continued via Zoom -very successful transition. Virtual stand at the University of Law Freshers Fair, where we spoke to students about volunteering opportunities. Continuing with Volunteer Buddies project -£10,000 received from SCF to sustain this...this project uses volunteers to provide short term assistance to people needing a hand with a wide range of tasks. Three new Social Prescribers taking the total to 6.

Volunteering overview
Table one is a bar chart that shows during the Quarter 2 period there were 244 registrations with the volunteer centre, 26 new volunteering opportunities, 34 ongoing opportunities, 157 referrals and in total 77 volunteers were placed in volunteering roles. These volunteers were in placements for at least 3 days or more. There were no registrations that required 'no further action' so all people registered received some support or referral.
Volunteers in place for two months or more
Table two shows no data for Quarter 2 relating to volunteers in placement for more than 2 months.
The key achievements in Quarter 2 (Q2) recorded by VARB were:
- VARB has continued to support organisations and groups to respond to COVID-19. In partnership with TVA we held a number of support forums/events for volunteers and launched a monthly support group for Volunteer Coordinators. We also helped a 'Next Steps' strategy workshop and offering individual strategy surgeries, supported by pro bono consultants 'Skylark'.
- Throughout the Summer VARB has maintained close links with over 800 registered volunteers - sending newsletters, updates and opportunities.
- VARB has secured funding from Community Foundation for Surrey to employ a Communications professional to support VCFS organisations with their communication needs.
Volunteers with disabilities
Table 3 shows 3% of the people placed in volunteering roles had some form of disability. This is lower than the proxy population which states 12% of the population in Reigate and Banstead are registered as having a disability. However, the majority of volunteers did not fill these details.
Gender of volunteers
Table 4 shows in Quarter 2 the majority of the volunteers placed were female where this information was recorded. In Q2 61% of the volunteers placed were female and 28% were male. This does not align with the proxy population which shows 49% of the local population is male and 51% is female.
Ethnicity of volunteers
Table 5 displays information about the ethnicity of volunteers. The majority of the local population is white and white other. There were a lot of unknowns for this category. The main reported placements were white other. The remaining reported placements correlated with the ethnic make up of the local population of Asian, Black, Mixed and Other.
Age of volunteers
Table 6 reported the age of the volunteers. The categories of ages were, 15 to 18, 19 to 25, 26 to 44, 45 to 64 and 65+. The biggest population groups in the locality are 26 to 44 and 45 to 64 and the table shows the majority of the volunteers placed were proportionate to the proxy population age groups.
Corporate volunteering
There is a table relating to corporate volunteering which shows 1 corporate volunteering event were undertaken in Reigate and Banstead in Q2 resulting in 4 individuals undertaking volunteering activity.
One-off volunteering
There is a table relating to one-off volunteering which shows no one-off volunteering took place in Q2.

Table one is a bar chart that shows during the Quarter 2 period there were:
- 123 registrations with the volunteer centre
- 17 new volunteering opportunities
- 265 ongoing opportunities
- 261 referrals and in total 95 volunteers were placed in volunteering roles.
These volunteers were in placements for at least 3 days or more. There were no registrations that required 'no further action' so all people registered received some support or referral.

The key achievements in Quarter 2 (Q2) recorded by VSNS R&SH were:
- Supported PCN to run Flu Drive through at Blackbushe Airport. Recruited and coordinated 45 volunteers to cover 3 shifts per weekday and 1 shift at the weekends over the 6 week programme and received excellent feedback from all parties involved.
- Working with Mutual Aid Groups to transition volunteers to longer term opportunities.
- Updated training to be delivered on-line. Ran 6 fundraising courses during the quarter..

Table 4 shows in Quarter 2 the majority of the volunteers placed were female where this information was recorded. In Q 68% of the volunteers placed were female and 31% were male. This does not align with the proxy population which shows 49% of the local population is male and 51% is female.

Table 5 displays information about the ethnicity of volunteers but no information relating to the ethnicity of volunteers was recorded.
Age of volunteers
Table 6 reports the age of the volunteers. The categories of ages are, 15 to 18, 19 to 25, 26 to 44, 45 to 64 and 65+. Very little information about the ages of volunteers was recorded.

Table one is a bar chart that shows during the Quarter 2 period there were 32 registrations with the volunteer centre, 17 new volunteering opportunities, 265 ongoing opportunities, 77 referrals and in total 17 volunteers were placed in volunteering roles. These volunteers were in placements for at least 3 days or more. There were no registrations that required 'no further action' so all people registered received some support or referral.

Table two for Quarter 2 has no data on how many volunteers placed were in placements for more than 2 months.
The key achievements in Quarter 2 (Q2) recorded by VSNS Sp were:
- Administered the SAFE Scheme for Spelthorne BC; financial assistance to Spelthorne BC staff who have been adversely affected by the pandemic.
- Worked closely with Surrey Community Action to support Local Good Neighbour Schemes to adapt to the changing environment and comply with the regulations.
- Supported local companies to develop new CSR to work with new working patterns developing partnerships with local charities to provide much needed support.

Table 3 shows 2% of the people placed in volunteering roles had some form of disability. This is lower than the proxy population which states 14% of the population in Spelthorne are registered as having a disability however a large proportion of information relating to this was not recorded.

Table 4 shows in Quarter 2 the majority of the volunteers placed were female where this information was recorded. In Q2 72% of the volunteers placed were female and 28% were male. This does not align to the proxy population which shows 49% of the local population are male and 51% are female.

The key achievements in Quarter 2 (Q2) recorded by TVA were:
- Running advice and information networking events for charities and community groups relevant to COVID need, such as community transport.
- Maintaining links with standby volunteers for future volunteering support being in a period between virus spikes.
- Training on key issues, such as managing volunteers, funding, safeguarding, mental health support.
