Director of Adult Safeguarding and DoLS

Adult Social Care and Health services in Surrey are good but we want them to be better. We know where we are coming from and we know where we are going. We have recently bought Adult Social Care, Public Health, and Community and Health Partnerships functions together into one directorate to ensure we can continue to deliver our core principle of supporting people to live their best life. To meet the demands and challenges of tomorrow, we are building our leadership capacity today. Our new structure in Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnerships will increase the focus on quality and good outcomes; lead a productive and motivated workforce; support inclusive communities to reduce inequalities; and ensure we continue to deliver our statutory duties in a financially sustainable way.

As our new Director, you will lead strategic and operational programmes to embed a culture of continuous practice improvement and innovation in these services. Your role will be critical in ensuring compliance and delivering our statutory safeguarding obligations, protecting vulnerable adults in our County.

The role involves providing expert advice and guidance on all aspects of adult safeguarding to the leadership team of the directorate. Leading the Adults Safeguarding Hub, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and promoting best practices in safeguarding are key responsibilities. Collaboration with partners to develop a partnership model for safeguarding vulnerable adults is essential. We will look to you to establish reporting on key performance indicators to monitor safeguarding performance, managing the implementation of local and national policies, and assessing risks associated with operational activities, to ensure our residents receive the best possible outcomes.
