The reasons why we use your personal data
This privacy notice applies to the functions of the Citizens' Panel Service.
What processing of personal data is undertaken by the Service?
Your personal data is being used to invite you to membership of the Surrey Citizens Panel. Your participation as a Member will be to provide resident insight and feedback as part of Surrey County Council and Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership research into a range of current and future services for the benefit of Surrey residents.
In addition, we collect your personal data for equal opportunities monitoring.

- Disability status
- Dependent children on property
- Opinions and expressions
How we are allowed to use your personal data
Public task - necessary for activities that support or promote democratic engagement.
We will process your personal ethnicity, health and condition information in accordance with the equality, diversity and inclusion requirements of the Equality Act 2010.
Consent
To process your personal data, we will explain to you what we are asking you to agree to and why. If we have consent to use your personal data, you have the right to remove it at any time. If you want to remove your consent, please contact us at the following email address research@surreycc.gov.uk and we will deal with your request.
When undertaking equality, diversity and inclusion monitoring and also when we undertake research relating to your political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs and data concerning health we will seek your explicit consent respectively.

We will be sharing research responses with Surrey Heartlands Health and Care (NHS) at an anonymous level.
