The reasons why we use your personal data
This privacy notice applies to the functions of the East Surrey Community Budget, within the Communities and Prevention team on behalf of the Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnerships for the Council.
What processing of personal data is undertaken by the team?
Your personal data is collated for the purposes of applying to join the East Surrey Community Budget panel or applying for funding.
We also use data where necessary for contact with the individual.
Panel member role
Your participation as a member of the panel will be to provide resident insight and feedback and contribute to the decision-making process of the funding.
Assessment and granting of funding
As part of the assessment and approval process, potential successful applicants' data may be subject to verification processes, in accordance with our legal obligations.
Use and granting of public funds will be subject to scrutiny and include the following
- Auditing
- Research and statistical analysis (at an anonymised level) including fund evaluation
- Equal opportunity monitoring
- Residents who contact the Surrey Communities team to ask a question, or discuss their project idea, may have their contact details kept by the team in order to contact them on their idea or application.

Who we share your personal data with
We may share your data in order to respond to an enquiry or issue you have raised with us with the following:
- Other departments within the county council
- Anonymised data will be shared with the budget panel to review, this will include resident panel members.
- Providers including internal and external experts such as representatives from the District and Borough Councils

No automated decision-making is being undertaken.
Personal data being set or processed outside of the UK and European Union
No personal data is being processed outside of the UK.
Retention of data
Data will be retained in accordance with the countywide data retention schedule.
