The reasons why we use your personal data

This privacy notice applies to the functions of the Local Energy Advice Demonstrator project (LEAD) and in particular the 'register your interest' form for the One-Stop Shop (OSS) service, a holistic support service for residents wishing to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

What processing of personal data is undertaken by the service?

Your personal data is collated to enable us to provide you with information about the One-Stop Shop service.

In addition we collect your personal data to monitor and evaluate the service and for service improvement and planning

What Information do we collect?

The Surrey County Council project team will collect and process the following data:

  • Name
  • Phone
  • Email
  • Address and Postcode
  • Tenure
  • House archetype
  • Main heating source, for example, gas central heating
  • Energy Performance Certificate rating
  • Conservation area status
  • Motivation for engaging with service

How we are allowed to use your personal data

Consent

To process your personal data, we will explain to you what we are asking you to agree to and why. If we have consent to use your personal data, you have the right to remove it at any time. If you want to remove your consent, please contact us at the following email address energy@surreycc.gov.uk and we will deal with your request.

Who we share your personal data with

We share data with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) for the monitoring and evaluation of the project.

Data will be shared with the OSS provider, FurbNow. Please see their privacy policy for further information.

Retention of data

Your personal data will be kept by us until March 2025, the current lifetime of the service, plus an additional year after the service terminates for evaluation purposes.
