Purpose / function of the service

The Schools Support Service provides advice and guidance to Surrey schools and academy staff, governors, parents and other education stakeholders on the management of a range of issues including complaints, critical incidents, safeguarding, data protection, and health/safety/welfare.

The Schools Support Service may also provide advice or participate in investigations relating to concerns or whistleblowing allegations about issues involving school staff or governors.

Your personal data is collected to enable the Schools Support Service to provide advice and guidance, upon request.

Where necessary we collect the following information relating to adults or children:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Contact details – address, telephone number, email address
  • Age/ date of birth
  • Race/ ethnic origin
  • Health details
  • Special educational needs

How we are allowed to use your personal data

Legal obligation or public task under various UK legislation including but not limited to:

  • Education Act 2002

To process your personal data, we will explain to you what we are asking you to agree to and why. If we have consent to use your personal data, you have the right to remove it at any time.
