The reasons why we use your personal data
This privacy notice relates to the functions of the Scrutiny Team in Democratic Services, which supports overview and scrutiny functions within Surrey County Council.

Your personal data is collected as part of the Select Committee Task Group evidence-gathering process.

- Names where provided
- Identifying information where provided – such as narrative submissions containing information which could identify an individual

Legislation
Sections 9F to 9FI of the Local Government Act 2000 as amended by the Localism Act 2011.
Consent
To process your personal data, we will explain to you what we are asking you to agree to and why. If we have received consent to use your personal data, you have the right to remove it at any time. If you want to remove your consent, please contact us at the following email address democraticservices@surreycc.gov.uk and we will deal with your request.
Who we share your personal data with
Where provided, we will only share your email address and other personal information with the Democratic Services team for the purpose of contacting you in relation to your submissions. We may publish your submission which may include personal or identifying information with your consent.
Retention of data
Data will be retained for 8 months or until the task group publishes its report (whichever is later) except where reproduced in the task group's report with the agreement of the data's owner.
