The reasons why we use your personal data
This privacy notice applies to the functions of the communications service that incorporates and carries out communications functions within Surrey County Council.

What processing of personal data is undertaken by the service?
Your personal data is being processed to suggest services and content which may be of interest to you keeping you updated. This includes working with other council services and with partners by promoting competitions and awarding of prizes.
In addition we collect your personal data for equal opportunities monitoring.
What Information do we collect?
Your name and email address will be collected from all survey entrants.
They will be input into a random number generator which will select one prize winner.
Competition winners will be contacted via email address so that we can send the prize.
How we are allowed to use your personal data
Necessary for our public task: marketing and communication to you about those services or content which may be of interest to you. This includes the offer of prizes via the promotion and entering of competitions and prize draws.
We will process your personal data in accordance with the equality, diversity and inclusion requirements of the Equality Act 2010.
Who we share your personal data with
We share the selected winners names and email addresses with the sponsors in order to award their prizes.
Retention of data
For a period of one month and six months for unsuccessful and successful prize winners respectively.
