Filming in our Countryside Estate

Surrey is an attractive and popular film location with its proximity to London, as well as Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

We manage more than 4,046 hectares (10,000 acres)* of countryside that we call our Countryside Estate, and each of these sixteen beautiful sites has full public access, so they are always open for you to enjoy and capture on film. The sites consist of a variety of different landscapes and habitats from leafy woodlands (Surrey is the most wooded county in England!), treasured chalklands, which support many rare plants, birds, animals and insects to grasslands and vast open heathlands. Situated on our estate, we also have ancient monuments, historic towers and many vistas from which to enjoy far reaching views.

Surrey has played host to several major feature films and TV dramas including Beauty and the Beast, The Holiday, Wonder Woman, Gladiator, The Crown, Downton Abbey and Call the Midwife, to name but a few. Take a look at our Filmed in Surrey page.

*This figure includes the 2,630 hectares (6,500 acres) that we own.
