Tree planting volunteer events this winter

The Tree Planting Team at Surrey County Council are seeking volunteers for their winter tree planting events to help plant new trees and meet the Council's 1.2million tree planting target! No experience needed, just wrap up warm, bring a spade and join in!

  • Date: Various until February
  • Place: Various locations across Surrey
  • Time: Usual times are 10am to 1pm or 1pm to 3pm

The Tree Planting Team at Surrey County Council are seeking volunteers to help with planting in Coulsdon. No experience needed, just wrap up warm, bring a spade and join in!

  • Date: Tuesday 14 January
  • Place: Church Lane Drive, Coulsdon, CR5 3RG
  • Time: 10.00am to 1.00pm

Countryside visitor survey engagement events

We are always looking to listen and learn from our visitors about how they enjoy Surrey's countryside spaces, including what they value most about their visits and how we can improve their overall experience. Our countryside visitor survey is running until 30 May and we will be holding in-person engagement events at various locations where you will have the opportunity to meet with staff from the Visitor Services Team and find out more about the survey.

Events are scheduled for:

  • Date: Thursday 30 January
  • Place: Sheepleas, St Mary's Church car park, KT24 6AP
  • Time: 10am to 1pm

and

  • Date: Saturday 1 February
  • Place: Newlands Corner, Albury Downs car park, GU4 8SE
  • Time: 9am to 12pm

Tree giveaway at Surrey Libraries

Collect a Free Tree from a Surrey Library. In support of Surrey County Council's 1.2m Tree Strategy, to plant one tree for every Surrey resident by 2030, Surrey Libraries are pleased to be giving away free trees at the following libraries on:

  • Date: Saturday 8 February.
  • Place: Esher, Horley, Horsley and West Byfleet Libraries.
  • Time: 9.30am to 12.00pm (West Byfleet giveaway starts at 10am).

The trees are native, broad-leaved species and come with a stake and tie, ready for garden planting. We will also provide a leaflet containing information on how to plant and care for your tree to give it the best start in its new home.

Tree planting in Horley

The Tree Planting Team at Surrey County Council are seeking volunteers to help with planting over three days in West Park Farm, Horley. No experience needed, just wrap up warm, bring a spade and join in!

  • Date: Tuesday 25, Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 February
  • Place: West Park Road, Horne, Tandridge RH7 6HT
  • Time: 10.00am to 1.00pm and 1.00pm to 3.30pm sessions
