On 30 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 49 (Dockenfield) which extends for about 205 metres in a north-easterly direction from point A (Grid reference: 481908 140389), 45 metres north-east of its junction with High Thicket Road, to point B (Grid reference: 482081 140490), and which is marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/16/H11, and that length of Public Footpath 49a (Dockenfield) which extends for about 15 metres in northerly direction from its junction with Public Footpath 49 (Dockenfield) to point C, and which is marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/16/H11.

The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to excavation works being carried out in the highway.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

There is no alternative route.
