Public Footpath 85 (Farnham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 1 April 2025 County Council made the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Footpath 85 (Farnham) from its junction with Footpath 89 (Farnham) at Grid Reference 483837 146935 in a generally south easterly direction to its junction with West Street at Grid Reference 483873 146823
The Order is necessary to allow the installation and/or re-alignment of utility services required for the residential development for which planning consent has been granted (WA/2023/00848). The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 7 April 2025 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from the northern end of the closure is:
Proceed in a westerly direction along Footpath 89 (Farnham) for 45 metres, then continue in a south easterly direction along Footpath 86 (Farnham) – Lion & Lamb Yard - to West Street, then in north easterly direction for 20 metres to the southern point of the closure.
The alternative route for traffic from the southern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
