Surrey County Council Rights of Way Definitive Map And Statement

The Surrey County Council Bridleway 604, (Effingham) and the Upgrade of Part of Footpath 548 (Effingham) to Bridleway Status Definitive Map Modification Order 2024 (Order 1)

And

The Surrey County Council Bridleways 605, 606, 607, 608 And 609, (Effingham) and the Upgrade of part of Footpath 114 (Effingham) to Bridleway Status Definitive Map Modification Order 2024 (Order 2)

The above Orders, to be known as Orders 1 and 2, made on 28 March 2024, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by:

Order 1:


Adding a public bridleway 604 (Effingham), shown by a bold broken line with cross bars in the intervals on Drawing no. 3/1/58/H19 and H20 commencing at point 'A' (Grid ref: 510669 155369) from Effingham Common Road and proceeding in a south-westerly direction for 155 metres, via point 'B' to its junction with upgraded bridleway 548 (Effingham) and Footpath 114 (Effingham) at point 'C' (Grid ref. 510565 155252). Then recommencing 240 metres to the south-west from point 'D' (Grid Ref. 510394 155092), in a south-south-westerly direction from the junction of upgraded Bridleway 548 (Effingham) and Footpath 548 (Effingham) for 791 metres past point 'E' to point 'F' (Grid ref. 510053 154491) its junction with Bridleway 131 (Effingham). The total distance A-B-C and D-E-F is 845 metres with a width of 3 metres.

Upgrading public footpath no. 548 (Effingham) shown by a broken line with cross bars in the intervals on Drawing no. 3/1/58/H19 and H20 commencing at point 'C' Grid ref. 510565 155252), its junction with Bridleway 604 and Footpath 114 and proceeding in a south-south-westerly direction to its junction with Bridleway 604 (Effingham) and Footpath 548 (Effingham) at point 'D' (Grid Ref. 510394 155092) to bridleway status. The total distance C-D is 241 metres with a width of 3 metres.

Order 2:


Adding a public bridleway 605 (Effingham), shown by a bold broken line with cross bars in the intervals on Drawing no. 3/1/58/H19 and H20 commencing at point 'E' (Grid ref: 510348 155003) on the eastern side of Effingham Common to the south of Lee Brook and proceeding in a generally north-westerly direction for 221 metres to its junction with bridleway 606 (Effingham) at point 'G' (Grid Ref. 510215 155110) then continuing in a generally west-south-westerly direction for 186 metres to point 'H' (Grid Ref. 510051 155067), its junction with bridleway 131 (Effingham). The total distance E-G-H is 407 metres with a width of 2.5 metres.

Adding a public bridleway 606 (Effingham) shown by a bold broken line with cross bars in the intervals on Drawing no. 3/1/58/H19 and H20 commencing at point 'L' (Grid Ref. 510362 155808) on Effingham Common Road and proceeding in a south-westerly direction for 22 metres to point 'K' (Grid Ref. 510356 155783) and its junction with bridleway 608 (Effingham), continuing in a south-westerly direction for 265 metres to point 'O' (Grid Ref. 510174 155598), its junction with bridleway 609 (Effingham), then proceeding in a south-easterly direction for 415 metres to point 'J' (Grid Ref. 510316 155231), its junction with footpath and bridleway 114 (Effingham), then in a south-westerly direction for 150 metres to point 'I' (Grid Ref. 510217 155123) its junction with footpath 548 (Effingham), then in a southerly direction for 14 metres to point 'G' (Grid Ref. 510215 155110) its junction with bridleway 605 (Effingham). The total distance L-K-O-J-I-G is 866 metres with a width of 2.5 metres.

Adding a public bridleway 607 (Effingham) shown by a bold broken line with cross bars in the intervals on Drawing no. 3/1/58/H19 commencing at point 'M' (Grid Ref. 510645 155379) at its junction with bridleway 608 (Effingham) and proceeding in a south-westerly, then a north-westerly then a south-westerly direction for 311 metres to point 'N' (Grid Ref. 510432 155300) its junction with footpath and bridleway 114 (Effingham). The total distance M-N is 311 metres with a width of 2.5 metres.

Adding a public bridleway 608 (Effingham) shown by a bold broken line with cross bars in the intervals on Drawing no. 3/1/58/H19 commencing at point 'K' (Grid Ref. 510356 155783) its junction with bridleway 606 (Effingham) and proceeding in a south-easterly direction for 499 metres to point 'M' (Grid Ref. 510645 155379) its junction with bridleway 607 (Effingham), then continuing south-easterly for 20 metres to point 'B' (Grid Ref. 510663 155364), its junction with the track known as 'Effingham Common'. The total distance K-M-B is 519 metres with a width of 2.5 metres.

Adding a public bridleway 609 (Effingham) shown by a bold broken line with cross bars in the intervals on Drawing no. 3/1/58/H19 commencing at point 'O' (Grid Ref. 510174 155598) its junction with bridleway 606 (Effingham) and proceeding in a south-westerly direction for 80 metres to point 'P' (Grid Ref. 510107 155565) its junction with bridleway 131 (Effingham) known as 'Forest Lane'. The total distance O-P is 80 metres with a width of 2.5 metres.

Upgrading public footpath no. 114 (Effingham) shown by a broken line with cross bars in the intervals on Drawing no. 3/1/58/H19 commencing at point 'J' (510316 155231) its junction with Bridleway 606 (Effingham) and Footpath 114 (Effingham) and proceeding in a north-easterly direction for 133 metres to point 'N' (Grid Ref. 510432 155300), its junction with Bridleway 607 (Effingham) and Footpath 114 (Effingham), to bridleway status. The total distance J-N is 133 metres with a width of 2.5 metres.

This notice may be viewed at www.surreycc.gov.uk. Copies of the Orders and maps may be bought from the County Council for £4.

Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to the Countryside Access team (quoting reference DW/CV/CP593), at Surrey County Council, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford GU4 7BQ no later than 14 June 2024. Applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made. If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or to any part of it, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State (or part of it if the authority has by notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981) may itself confirm the Order (or that part of the Order). If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in whole or in part, any representations and objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
