The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 31 (Claygate) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 was made on the grounds of public safety due to replacement works on the Lovelace Footbridge over the A3. The Order came into operation on 13 March 2025. It was due to expire on 27 March 2025 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 27 May 2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding in that length of Public Footpath 31 (Claygate) which extends from its junction with Woodstock Lane South (Grid ref: 516912 164436) to the county boundary with The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames located east of the A3/Esher Bypass (Grid ref: 517153 164324).
