Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
On 06 March 2025 Surrey County Council will make the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 31 (Claygate) which extends from point A at its junction with Woodstock Lane South (Grid ref: 516912 164436) to point B (Grid ref: 517153 164324), county boundary with The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, located east of the A3/Esher Bypass, and which is marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/35/H4.
The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to replacement works on the Lovelace Footbridge over the A3. The closure will be in operation overnight between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 for 2 weeks starting from 13 March 2025 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
There is no alternative route.
"The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 31 (Claygate) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025" will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
