The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 32 (Epsom & Ewell) and Public Bridleway 33 (Epsom & Ewell) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 was made on the grounds of public safety due to construction work taking place on or near the highway. The Order came into operation on 22 February 2024. It was due to expire on 22 August 2024 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 22 February 2026 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding in that length of:

Public Footpath 32 (Epsom & Ewell) which extends for about 282 metres in a south-easterly direction from its junction with Public Bridleway 146 (Epsom & Ewell), (Grid reference: 520396 157566) to its junction with Public Bridleway 33 (Epsom & Ewell) (Grid reference: 520669 157489),
and

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.

Suggested alternative route: from the start of Public Footpath 32, along Langley Vale Road and Public Bridleway 146, proceed for 250 metres north-east on Public Bridleway 146, then turn south-east onto a track running parallel to Public Bridleway 33 and proceed for 720 metres to its junction with Public Bridleway 127.
