Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2024
On 28 June 2024 Surrey County Council will make the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Public Footpath 343 From point A (Grid reference: 504899 140456) heading West for 115 metres to point B (Grid reference: 504790 140456) shown as a solid black line on plan reference: 3/1/5/H54.
The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety due to water main works. The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 1 July 2024 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from point A is to head East for 174 metres on Public Footpath 343 (Cranleigh), then head South East for 238 metres on Public Footpath 342 (Cranleigh), then head South West for 77 Metres before continuing South East for 138 metres to join Public Footpath 344 (Cranleigh) for 596 metres heading South West to meet Guildford Road. Once on Guildford head North for 590 metres to point B.
The alternative route for traffic from point B will be the reverse of the route described above.
'The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 343 (Cranleigh) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024' will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
