Public Footpaths 161, 162 & 628 (Bletchingley)
Temporary Stopping Up Order 2024
The above Order was made on 14 May 2024. The effect of the order will be to temporarily stop up public footpaths 161,163 & 628 (Bletchingley) as shown on the order map. The stopping up is necessary for the applicant to continue and complete the extraction of silica sand in accordance with planning permission granted by Surrey County Council (SCC ref: 2020/434 & RE20/00463/CON.) The Footpaths will be reinstated to their original alignments on completion and final restoration of the site.
The alternative route for traffic from the northern end of the closure of Footpath 628 will be: proceed south west along Footpath 161 for 420 metres to the junction of Bridleway 165 and Footpath 629, then south east then south along Footpath 629 for a distance of 470 metres to the junction of Footpaths 628, 629 and 162.
The alternative route for traffic from the southern end of the closure of Footpath 628 will be the reverse of the route described above.
There are no alternative routes for Footpaths 161 and 163.
A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be seen by appointment free of charge at Countryside Access, Whitebeam Lodge, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford, GU4 7BQ (by appointment only - telephone 0300 200 1003) and Tandridge District Council Offices, Station Road East, Oxted RH8 0BT during normal office hours and at Merstham Library, Merstham Community Hub, 2a Portland Drive, Merstham RH1 3HY during opening hours. Copies of the Order and Map may be bought from the County Council at the price of £4.
Any representation about or objection to the Order may be sent or delivered in writing addressed to the Countryside Access Team (quoting reference DW/AW/3/1/21) at Whitebeam Lodge, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford GU4 7BQ, or by email to rightsofway@surreycc.gov.uk not later than 24 June 2024. Please state the grounds on which it is made.
If no representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Surrey County Council may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
