Public Footpath 546 (Horley)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 25 July 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 546 (Horley) which extends for about 85 metres in an easterly and then a northerly direction from point A at its junction with High Street (Grid ref: 528623 143124) to point B (Grid ref: 528674 143165) at its junction with Station Approach, and which is marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/45/H41.

The Order is necessary to enable the replacement of pumping and drainage system in the subway along the highway.

The closure will be in operation for a period of 33 days from 29 July 2024 until 30 August 2024, or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route for traffic from the High Street end of the closure at point A is via pavements and Public Footpath 547 (Horley) (foot bridge) shown as a broken black line on plan no. 3/1/45/H41.

The alternative route for traffic from Station Approach end of the closure at point B will be the reverse of the above.

"The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 546 (Horley) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic 2024" was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
