Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway No. 102 (Thursley) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made on the grounds of public safety due erosion of the path surface. The Order came into operation on 29 November 2023. It was due to expire on 29 May 2024 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 29 May 2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order as continued prohibits equestrian traffic from entering or proceeding along Public Bridleway 102 (Thursley) from its junction with public bridleway 590 (Grid Reference 490116, 139820) northwest for 280 metres. Pedestrians and cyclists may proceed with caution. Access to properties will not be affected by the Order.

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.

There is no suggested alternative route.

The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway 102 (Thursley) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made by the County Council under Sections 14(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
