Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 121 (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022 was made by reason of danger to the public due to restoration works being undertaken at Runfold Quarry.
The Order came into operation on 28 February 2022 and was due to expire on 28 August 2022. It was first continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 31 August 2023, and then extended for the second time until 31 August 2024. It has now been continued in force for a third time by the Secretary of State for Transport until 31 December 2025, or completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of Public Footpath 121 (Farnham) at Runfold Quarry, approximately 160 metres south of the junction with Guildford Road (Grid reference: 486341 147360), for 500 metres in a south south-westerly direction.
An alternative route around the closure has been provided and is indicated on site.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
