Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No.17 (Ockham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 was made on the grounds of public safety due to the M25/A3 junction 10 construction work taking place on or near the footpath. The Order came into operation on 23 February 2024. It was due to expire on 23 August 2024 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 31 December 2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding in that length of Public Footpath 17 (Ockham) which extends for approximately 135 metres from point A (Grid reference: 507794 158868), north-west of the A3, to point B (Grid reference: 507904 158806), south-east of the A3, and which is marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/60/H23.
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.
There is no alternative route.
