Public Footpath 197 (Shere)
Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2024

On 25 June 2024 Surrey County Council will make the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Public Footpath 197 (Shere) from Point A (Grid reference: 506859 143307) to point B (Grid reference: 506975 143325) shown as a solid bold line on plan reference 3/1/68/H50.

The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety due to plant equipment movements in relation to filming. The closure will be in operation for a period of five days from 1 July 2024 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route for traffic from point A will be to head South West along Public Footpath 197 (Shere) for 231 Metres, then head generally North for 1,072 Metres on Public Bridleway 205 (Shere) then 205 (Albury). Then head North East on Public Footpath 208 (Albury) for 278 Metres. Then head South East on Public Bridleway 203 (Albury) and Public Bridleway 203 (Shere). Then continue generally South on Public Bridleway 202 (Shere) for 889 metres to meet Public Footpath 197 (Shere). Then on Public Footpath 197 (Shere) head South West for 316 Metres to point B.

The alternative route for traffic from point B will be the reverse of the route described above.

"The Public Footpath 197 (Shere) Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2024" will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
