Public Footpath 27b (Esher)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 27b (Esher) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made to protect public safety due to water main replacement works happening on and near the footpath. The Order came into force on 1 September 2023.
It was due to expire on 29 February 2024. It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 1 September 2024 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.
The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 27b (Esher), within the red circle, as shown by the solid black line on the accompanying plan ref. 3/1/77/H45.
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements.
A short alternative route is provided around the works, corresponding to the dotted line on the plan. This is surfaced and fenced to ensure safe passage for members of the public.
The 'Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 27b (Esher) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023' was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
