Notice

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) & (2)
The Surrey County Council
Public Footpath 302 (Farnham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 14 December 2023 Surrey County Council made a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of Public Footpath 302 (Farnham) from its junction with South Street (Grid reference 484283 146715) north along the riverbank until it crosses the river Wey, as marked by a solid black line between points A and D on Plan drawing no. 3/1/18/H101.

The Order is required due to sections of the footpath being periodically unavailable due to works on the bridge crossing the footpath. The public footpath will be closed in phases between South Street and the River Wey crossing as works require. This is referred to between points A, B, C and D on the plan, please see onsite notices for details. The closure will be in effect for a period of 6 months, from 14 December 2023 until 14 June 2024, or when works have been completed, whichever is earlier.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

There is no suggested alternate route.

The 'Surrey County Council Public Footpath 302 (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023' will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Dated: 21 December 2023
