Notice

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) and (2)
The Surrey County Council
Public Footpath 337 (Charlwood)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 337 (Charlwood) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 was made on the grounds of public safety due to a bridge in disrepair. The Order came into operation on 30 May 2024. It was due to expire on 31 July 2024, but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 28 February 2025, or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 337 (Charlwood) which extends for 820 metres in an easterly and then south-easterly direction from point A at its junction with Norwoodhill Road (Grid reference: 524687 142906) to point B at its junction with Public Footpath 339 (Charlwood), and which is marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/42/H19.

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.

There is no recommended alternative route.
