Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2024
The Surrey County Council Public Public Footpath 52 (Warlingham) and Public Bridleway 88 (Warlingham)Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 was made on the grounds of public safety due to damage to the bridge. The Order came into operation on 22 April 2024. It was due to expire on 22 October 2024 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 22 October 2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding in that length of Public Footpath 52 (Warlingham) from Point A (Grid reference: 535076 158863) approximately 197 metres in a North Westerly direction to point B (Grid reference: 534928 158988) shown as a solid line on plan number 3/1/635/H8.
And
To prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of Public Bridleway 88 (Warlingham) from Point A (Grid reference: 535076 158863) approximately 174 metres in a South Westerly direction to point C (Grid reference 534917 158788) shown as a solid line on plan no 3/1/635/H8.
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from point B will be to follow Public Footpath 52 (Warlingham) for 542 metres first South Westerly, then North Westerly to Tithepit Shaw Lane, then head North for 332 metres before following the road round and heading East for 391 metres to Limpsfield Road (B269). Then head South East for 589 metres and join Public Bridleway 88 Warlingham heading South West for 219 metres to point A.
The alternative route from Point C will be to follow Public Bridleway 88 (Warlingham) in a generally North Westerly direction for 221 metres to Tithepit Shaw Lane, then head North West for 224 metres before heading North for 234 metres to the junction of Public Footpath 52 (Warlingham. The rest of the alternative route is the same as described above.
