Beare Green

An undulating circular walk through farmland and woodland, starting from Holmwood Station in Beare Green village. On a clear day there are good views to the Greensand Ridge and the North Downs.

  • Distance: 5.25 km (3.5 miles)
  • Time: Allow 2 hours
  • Difficulty: Challenging terrain

Capel Loops

A walk in two circular sections, making it ideal for a lunchtime stop in Capel village. The walk passes through farmland and woodland, with beautiful wildflowers in the spring. There are good views to Leith Hill and the North Downs.

  • Start/Finish: Vicarage Lane bus stop (RH5 5JY)
  • Distance: Two sections: 4.8 km (3 miles) each
  • Time: 1.5 hours per section
  • Difficulty: Moderate terrain

East Horley Circular

A flat circular walk taking you on a journey through time where new meets old and built up areas merge with farmland, streams and woodland. You'll encounter World War II pillboxes, hints of the tanning industry and the mysterious site of Thunderfield Castle.

Godalming and Eashing Circular

A circular walk from Godalming station, exploring the valley of the River Wey west of the town including the medieval stone bridge in Eashing, near to the Stag Pub.

Ramble around Ewhurst

A circular rural walk from the village of Ewhurst. The walk explores the beautiful local countryside, with stunning areas of mixed woodlands, rolling meadows, pretty streams and picturesque cottages and farms along the way.

Sidney Wood and the Lost Canal

An attractive circular walk from Sidney Wood near Alfold (near the border with West Sussex), exploring mixed woodlands and old parkland as well as a long stretch of the old Wey and Arun Canal.

  • Start/Finish: The free Forestry Commission car park in Sidney Wood, accessed from Dunsfold Road (GU6 HPU)
  • Distance: 8km (5 miles)

Silent Pool and St Martha's

A circular undulating walk in the Surrey Hills offering superb views, visiting a number of popular attractions including Silent Pool, a stretch of the North Downs Way, Newlands Corner and St Martha's Hill church.

Trees and Timber

A rural circular walk from Hydon Heath, near Hascombe. The walk explores several stretches of mixed woodland, a stretch of the Greensand Way with fabulous views and also the village of Hascombe.

Walk the Chalk

A linear walk from Dorking to Gomshall railway stations, via some of the finest chalk grassland in Surrey. The scenery is spectacular and the area is rich in wildlife. The return leg can be completed by a simple train or bus journey (but check timings beforehand).
