Surrey History Centre information for depositors

White and Sons auction records (Ref K99/2)Surrey History Centre is constantly expanding its holdings. Every week, a wide assortment of archive documents and local studies material from a variety of sources passes through our doors to join the six miles of records in our strongrooms.

We hold the records of Surrey organisations such as churches, businesses, schools, charities and sporting bodies; documentation relating to an individual or family with a connection with the county, such as correspondence, diaries, title deeds and estate records; books, pamphlets, maps and other printed material relating to the county; photographs, postcards, engravings and paintings of Surrey scenes or people.

Documents and books at Surrey History Centre are catalogued by trained archivists and librarians; and our catalogues can be searched online.

Deposits are inspected by qualified conservators.

Deposits are stored in our secure, environmentally controlled strongrooms.

Our holdings are made available to researchers in our searchroom.
