The starting salary for this role is £40,296 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week. This role is a fixed term contract for 9 months.

Surrey County Council's Safer Communities Team are recruiting a new Domestic Abuse Related Death Review Co-Ordinator (DARDR). This is a role in which you can make a real difference, leading to improvements in the response to domestic abuse, providing professional support to Surrey's 11 Community Safety Partnerships when undertaking DARDRs.

About the Role
Working as a member of the County Council's Safer Communities Team, you will work collaboratly with and empower partners across the Surrey Against Domestic Abuse Partnership to improve learning from, and co-ordination of, all work relating to Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews and joint DARDR/Serious Case Reviews.
While there is no formal team management, you will engage with teams of multi-agency staff across the partnership to help deliver many elements of the work programme, including from Surrey Police, District and Borough Councils, Health and specialist Domestic Abuse Services. Additionally, you will be required to monitor a multi-agency pooled budget allocated to the commissioning of DARDR Independent Chairs and Report Writers and delivery of seminars/webinars and training opportunities linked to DARDR recommendations.

Whilst incredibly rewarding, the nature of Domestic Homicide Reviews means you will have access to sensitive and potentially upsetting information. Vital to the success of a DARDR is sensitive and appropriate liaison with the family and friends of victims and most importantly, helping them to ensure that victims' voices are heard to illuminate the future and prevent further deaths.

  2. Can you describe your understanding of the statutory guidance related to Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews (DARDR) and wider domestic abuse policies? Please provide examples of how you have interpreted and applied this guidance in your previous roles.
  3. Please detail your experience with Domestic Abuse Risk and Review Decisions (DARDRs) and/or Serious Case Reviews (SCRs). How have you contributed to these reviews, and what outcomes or improvements were achieved as a result of your involvement?
  4. Describe your experience working within statutory organisations in a multi-agency context. How have you navigated the complexities of multi-agency collaboration, and can you provide an example of a successful outcome resulting from such collaboration?
In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence:
  • A good understanding of, and ability to interpret, statutory guidance related to Domestic Homicide Reviews and wider domestic abuse policy
  • Experience of DARDRs and/or Serious Case Reviews
  • Experience of working within statutory organisations in a multi-agency context
  • Willingness and ability to travel across Surrey to attend multi-agency meetings
An enhanced DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children's and Adults' Barred List checks will be required for this role.
