This role has a starting salary of £27,839.40 per annum, based on a 21.6 hour working week. The full time equivalent salary is £46,399 per annum.

We are excited to be hiring a new Senior Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic LIFE team. The team is based in Frimley Green Learning Hub. 

This is a 12-month secondment opportunity.

About the Team
LIFE is a small Alternative Education Provision offering up to 24 students in Year 12 -14 and have not been previously successful in mainstream, SEMH Special and/or Short Stay Schools, but are able to thrive in our highly flexible and inclusive provision.

About the Role
As LIFE develops and the cohort is becoming more complex, we are seeking to appoint an Occupational Therapist for 12 months for 3 days a week. 

The role of the Occupation Therapist, within LIFE will present an interesting, rewarding and development opportunity for the right individual to use their knowledge, skills and experience to support young people to meet the best outcomes.

We are are looking for a driven and enthusiastic OT to aid the development of the provision and best meet the needs of the students. This new emerging role will work to establish a robust initial assessment for students entering the service, exploring their functional abilities, impact of their home environment and the classroom on their physical and emotional well-being, and determining their strengths and areas for growth. You will work within the team to develop a clear initial assessment process, creating a social skills programme, determining clear goals and specific one to one student identified. You will have support to measure the effectiveness of the service with the co-development of key performance indicators and implanting an OT focused outcome measure to gather student experience. Clinical supervision support will be from the Transition Team Occupational Therapists and CPD opportunities as well as funding for relevant training.

  • Good planning and organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Resilience and the ability to work under pressure
  • A creative approach with the ability to look at improved ways of working with students
  • Knowledge of key legislation that you use in your daily practice to support your clinical reasoning and decision making
  • Any direct experience of lived experience you have working with or supporting young adults with physical and or learning disabilities/autism
