About the Team
The National House Project is a charity that supports authorities to set up local house projects so that young people leave care in a planned and supported way. Please take a look at the National House Project YouTube page to get a better understanding of the House Project.

The Local House Project is part of the National House Project and is an important new initiative for Surrey County Council that is focussed on enabling older looked after children and care leavers to progress to independence. Facilitators will take a lead supporting young people on a one to one basis and in group settings to help develop their skills and complete modules as part of the programme. Appropriate internal training and further training as part of the wider House Project will enable you to be confident and successful in this role.

About the Role
As a Facilitator you will work with the Project Lead to implement the development of the Surrey House Project. The project will work intensively with approximately up to 12 children in care and care leavers at any one time, to enable them to develop their own House Project, prepare them for independence and support them to secure their own long-term tenancy and maintain an Education Employment and Training pathway. Ongoing support will also be provided to young people who graduate from the House Project.

Working collaboratively and in a co-productive way with other staff including Keyworkers, PA's, and the Project Lead, you will support young people to complete a series of modules, which will involve running group sessions and on a 1-2-1 basis.

This role would lend itself well to someone with previous skills and experience of working with care experience children and young people, possibly from a residential, social care, education or housing background. You will be motivated by a desire to support care leavers to be part of a community, learn independent living skills, access opportunities to gain new skills and maintain a sense of purpose and achievement through their contributions to the project.
