The starting salary for this 18-month secondment is £52,047 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.

We are excited to be hiring a Senior Project Manager  to join our fantastic Community Partnerships and Prevention Service. The team works flexibly across Surrey County Council officers but are primarily based in Woodhatch Place, Reigate.

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Project Manager, where the role will be focusing on Social Value Project for the council. This role will be essential to delivering Surrey County Council's Social Value aims in alignment with the key priorities set out in 'Surrey Way'. 

The role will help to guide the organisational direction and work collaboratively with Surrey's residents and communities to ensure that Social Value is targeted where it can have the most positive impact. 

As our Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering projects within defined times, cost and quality boundaries. You'll do this by: 

  • Plan and oversee projects from inception to completion. 
  • Develop project plans, including scope, timelines, and resource allocation. 
  • Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness. 
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and manage expectations. 
  • Lead project teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration. 
  • Identify and mitigate project risks. 
  • Delivery of the outcomes and benefits 

The role has several exciting and varied dimensions: 

  • Supporting the development of the County Council's strategic approach to Social Value
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community organisations, partners and commissioned services to collaborate on Social Value initiatives 
  • Promoting the positive impact of Social Value initiatives internally and externally to a wide range of audiences 

Shortlisting criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Good project management skills
  • Good experience in stakeholder management at all levels in an organisation
  • Adept at budgeting and resource management 
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team, supporting your colleagues when needed
