Description

This is a bank role with a salary of £21.80 per hour, plus annual leave allowance.

We are seeking Bank Social Workers, specialising in Kinship Fostering to join our fantastic Fostering Team.

We have offices in Reigate and Woking, however you will need to be prepared to travel around the county, and beyond, to meet the demands of the role.

About the Role
Our Fostering Team is a creative service that works with the theories of trauma, attachment and loss, to ensure the best outcomes for our children and young people. We are currently seeking bank workers to complete assessments, considering applicants for Kinship Fostering, Special Guardianship, or both. These assessments are required in short timescales, so you will need to be self-motivated and accustomed to working to deadlines. You will support to increase our pool of foster carers and ensure that foster carers receive adequate and appropriate training for the tasks they fulfill.You will have good IT and communication skills, with experience of establishing rapport with families in times of stress.

Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Be a qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
  • Have experience of working in Kinship/Connected Persons Fostering
  • Be able to produce clear, triangulated, evidence based and analytical assessments
Surrey has both urban and rural areas and Social Workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK, access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area. Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long-term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.
