Description

This is a bank role with a competitive hourly rate of £29.79 per hour, plus an additional 15% annual leave allowance per hour. These rates include preparation time and travelling.

We are excited to be hiring a new Residential Childcare Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to join our fantastic Apprenticeship team. As Surrey County Council are planning to expand the number of residential childcare homes across the county, we're looking for someone who is flexible and responsive to change in an evolving sector to join us in making this apprenticeship delivery a success!

This is a zero hours (bank) contract. The amount of work you are offered will depend on how many apprentices we have enrolled onto the Residential Childcare Apprenticeships, however this is likely to be at least 1 day per week.

Although you will occasionally be required to attend meetings at our Woking Adult Learning Centre, staff can work in an agile way, including from home. Travel within Surrey to our other centres and learner work placements within Surrey's Children's Residential care homes will be required. We will supply you with a work laptop to carry out your work duties flexibly.

Surrey has both urban and rural areas therefore you will be expected to have a valid driving licence todrive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a widegeographical area. About the Role
As our Residential Childcare IQA you will be responsible for supporting at least two Trainer/Assessors who deliver these apprenticeships. IQA duties include portfolio sampling, chairing sector based standardisation meetings, being involved in EQA visits with the Awarding Organisations, carrying out observations of teaching, learning & assessment, supporting and training our trainer/assessors. We use OneFile e-portfolio portfolio when sampling and giving written feedback to Trainer/Assessors.

This role is to Internally Quality Assure the Residential Childcare Apprenticeships at Level 4 and Level 5. These apprenticeships include the Level 3 and Level 5 NCFE/CACHE Diplomas.

Shortlisting Criteria
In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application must evidence the following:
  • Experience in delivering and internal quality assuring residential childcare apprenticeships at level 4 and level 5
  • A verifiers qualification (V1 or equivalent)
  • An assessor qualification (TAQA/A1 or equivalent)
  • Residential/social childcare qualification and/or significant professional experience in a senior residential childcare role
  • Thorough knowledge of current children's home legislation in England
  • Excellent IT and organisational skills
