The starting salary for this position is £13,388.50 per annum based on an 18-hour working week. Working days are Monday to Wednesday. This is a 12 month fixed term contract / secondment opportunity.

We are excited to be hiring a new Customer Advisor to join our fantastic Surrey Adult Learning Service. Surrey Adult Learning has seven centres across North and Southwest Surrey with this position based in our Woking Adult Learning Centre, Surrey, GU22 9PE.

About Surrey Adult Learning
Surrey Adult Learning is a leading provider of diverse daytime, evening and Saturday courses and learning opportunities for adults. We offer a wide range of qualification courses, including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Maths and Digital Skills. Our courses also cater to individuals with learning disabilities, mental health conditions and parents/carers seeking to upskill, to support their children. Additionally, we provide courses for personal development in various subjects such as Arts and Crafts, Languages and Exercise. Our outreach provision is designed to assist those currently facing life challenges.

About the Role
The Customer Service Team is a busy and friendly team whose main responsibility is to provide a high level of customer service, directly to members of the public. The team also forms part of the larger Learning Services Team within Surrey Adult Learning.

As a Customer Advisor, your role will be to act as the first point of contact for telephone enquiries, emails and providing administrative support. You will provide initial information and advice, and a high level of customer care. On a day-to-day basis you will also input real time enrolments for customers interested in attending our adult learning classes process payments and refunds, and also mark attendance and achievement data on the Service's Management Information System.

Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Experience of working in a Customer Service or Support environment
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong administrative ability and IT skills
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage your own workload, meet deadlines and prioritise as required
  • High standards of accuracy and an attention to detail
