About the Team
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a friendly and supportive team who work to secure the best value public transport available for our residents keeping them informed of changes to the bus network. Putting buses at the heart of our new and emerging Surrey Transport Plan, the delivery of which is key to our Greener Futures Programme, is key to providing a realistic and attractive alternative to the private car. About the Role
Bus Services provide access to key services for our residents, including access to employment, education, health, and essential shopping. This role will be supporting the Team in proactively advising the travelling public of road closures and bus stop suspensions that could affect their journey on the network of local bus services in Surrey.
Working with the current three Transport Officers, you will assist operators when roads are close by finding alternative routes, keeping the travelling public updated on emergency service changes, posting timetable information at bus stops and maintain and clean the bus stop timetable cases and flags. We also have a requirement to spend time monitoring bus services which are financially supported by the County Council and report any irregularities which are observed. Ensuring the best impression of bus services is given to the public is essential and this post works towards this important goal.
