The starting salary for this role is £29,662 per annum based on a 36 hour working week. This is a 6 month fixed term position.

About the Role

This is your opportunity to make a difference by supporting, advising and advocating for adult Carers in South West and East Surrey. Your base will be your home and you will work within the community as well as spending at least one day per week in a carers hub setting.

Much of the role will take place during normal office hours, however you will need to be available for planned evening and weekend work to support carers at a time that works for them.

One of the key responsibilities of this role is managing a caseload of carers, you will encourage carers to identify their own needs and facilitate initiatives for carers including running carers networks and support groups. This role involves visiting carers in their own home and seeing carers in community buildings. You will work across South West Surrey and may be asked to provide cover in the East Surrey area.


About You

You must have had experience of working with and advocating for adults and families and have an understanding of carers rights. You will have knowledge of legislation relevant to carers and disabled people. Finally, you will be a confident communicator and be able to facilitate training and information sessions to groups. You will have a flexible approach to your work and be confident travelling to and working in a variety of settings.

You must have a current driving licence and use of a road worthy vehicle (milage is paid at 45p per mile).
