Description
Crew Commander Opportunities at Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS)
We are excited to announce that Inter-Service Transfers for Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) are now open for Crew Commander opportunities, with the campaign aimed to commence in May 2025.
We welcome interest from Wholetime and On-Call Crew Commanders, whether you are in development or fully competent. These roles offer the chance to lead and support your team in managing all types of operational incidents effectively and safely. Your responsibilities will include planning for incident needs, implementing actions to meet objectives, bringing incidents to a close, and debriefing your team afterwards.
As a Crew Commander, you will play an integral part in our organisation, working closely with Watch Commanders to support the management and administration of the watch or team. In the absence of a Watch Manager, you will also be expected to deputise.
If you're looking to be part of a forward-thinking, inclusive service that values teamwork and puts the community first, SFRS is the place for you.
Salary and Benefits
Salaries are aligned with NJC Pay Scales and include a Surrey Allowance of £1,638 per annum.
Course Information
Successful candidates will join a course at our Wray Park Training Centre, Reigate, running for five weeks (Monday – Friday). Please note that the course may be extended to meet service needs. Upon completion, candidates will be placed at any station across Surrey.
