Minerals and waste policy guidance notes

As the Minerals and Waste Planning Authority, Surrey County Council prepares guidance and information about a several key issues relating to minerals and waste management development in the county. The range of guidance and information will be added to over time and updated periodically to take account of the latest information. Sustainable Construction and Waste Management in New Development 2023

The Sustainable Construction and Waste Management in New Development guidance seeks to complement Policy 4 of the Surrey Waste Local Plan 2020 by providing context for the importance of and need for sustainable waste management as part of new development in the county. It also provides advice about Site Waste Management Plans to be submitted in support of planning applications for major development.

Waste Safeguarding 2024

The Waste Safeguarding guidance, seeks to complement Policy 7 of the Surrey Waste Local Plan 2020 by providing context for the importance of and need for waste safeguarding in the county.

Mineral Safeguarding 2023

The Mineral Safeguarding guidance seeks to complement Policies MC4 and MC6 of the Surrey Minerals Plan Core Strategy 2011 by providing context for the importance of and need for the efficient use of mineral resources and mineral safeguarding in the county.

The Oil and Gas Development in Surrey guidance seeks to answer a range of frequently asked questions about oil and gas development in Surrey.
