Temporary changes or road closure information that may affect your journey by bus will be listed below when details are available. This information is supplied in good faith and is accurate at the time of publishing. Passengers should be aware that changes in road closure schedules can affect the start and length of works and checks should be made with the bus operator before travelling.

A3 closure (Painshill Roundabout to M25 Junction 10)

Due to major highways improvement works, from 9pm on Friday 11 April to 6am on Monday 14 April the A3 will be closed in both directions between Painshill Roundabout and Junction 10 of the M25.

As a result the Falcon 715 service will be on diversion via Ockham Road North, Forest Road, Horsley Road and Downside Bridge Road in both directions. Due to this diversion the following bus stops will not be served: "Painshill Roundabout" and "Fire Station" (on Portsmouth Road, Cobham).

Colesmead Road, Redhill

Due to works by SES Water at the junction of Colesmead Road and London Road, as of Friday 11 April the Metrobus 411 service is on diversion and is unable to serve stops on Colesmead Road or Gatton Park Road. Instead services will continue straight ahead along the A23 London Road until the works are completed. Works are currently expected to be completed no later than Friday 18 April.

Royal Surrey Hospital, Guildford

On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April the access road to the Royal Surrey Hospital is being closed for maintenance works. During these works passengers for Safeguard services 4/5 can use the bus stops on Egerton Road next to the hospital. Passengers for the Stagecoach 1 service can use the bus stop on Egerton Road outside Tesco.

Charterhouse Road, Godalming

From Monday 7 April, Charterhouse Road in Godalming has been closed by the junction with The Bridge and Hurtmore Road due to emergency gas works. The works are expected to last until 17 April.

From Godalming High Street, Stagecoach service 46 will divert along the A3100 to Milford then onto the A3 northbound until Hurtmore and then will resume the normal line of route from Elstead Road at Shackleford. It will miss bus stops along Hurtmore Road and Charterhouse Road. The bus will do the same in reverse.

Almond Avenue, Woking

From Monday 7 April, Almond Avenue in Woking has been closed by the junction of Egley Road due to emergency gas works. The works are expected to last for 2 weeks.

Safeguard service 81 will be diverting via Acacia Avenue and Hawthorn Road and will not be able to serve the bus stops at Almond Avenue and Barnsbury School.

Manor Road, Tongham

From Monday 7 April, Manor Road in Tongham will be closed due to road maintenance works. The closure is expected to last 2 weeks.

Stagecoach service 20 will divert via Aldershot Road and stops on Manor Road and Oxenden Road will not be served. The bus will serve the Priors Court stop on the Aldershot Road for journeys heading towards Guildford, and the Walsh School and Priors Court bus stops for journeys towards Aldershot.

Guildford Road, Normandy

From Monday 17 April, Guildford Road in Normandy between Glaziers Lane and Westwood Lane will be closed due to sewage works. The closure is expected to last 2 weeks.

The Stagecoach 20 service will not be able to serve the bus stops between Glaziers Lane and Westwood Lane. The nearest alternative stops are Glaziers Lane stop for services towards Guildford, and the Pond stop for services towards Aldershot.

Cottimore Lane, Walton on Thames

From Monday 7 April, Cottimore Lane in Walton on Thames will be closed due to gas works until 19 May. The hours of the closure are 7am to 7pm weekdays, 8am to 5pm on Saturdays and 9am to 1pm on Sundays.

The closure is taking place in phases. For the first phase of the works Falcon Buses services 461 and 564 will be diverting via Carlton Road and The Grove. This is expected to last 4 weeks.

For the second phase of the works, Falcon service 461 will divert via Rodney Road and Sidney Road for journeys heading to and from Kingston. Falcon service 564 will divert via Terrace Road and The Grove for the journeys heading towards the Xcel Centre. This phase is expected to last 2 weeks.

West Street, Epsom

Due to repair works on the railway bridge by Network Rail, West Street, Epsom will be closed from Monday 7 April for approximately 3 nights (10pm - 6am only). As a result the Metrobus E9 and E10 services will be on diversion between these hours, and bus stops on West Street and Christ Church Road will not be served. Services will use Horton Lane, Chantilly Way and Hook Road in both directions to get to and from Epsom Town Centre whilst the road is closed.

Cox Lane, West Ewell

From 5 April, Cox Lane in West Ewell will be closed due to works by Thames Water. The works are expected to last until 25 April.

Falcon service E5 will be not able to serve Watersedge, and the bus stops at Hogsmill Way, Holman Road and Cox Lane will not be served.

Passengers wishing to travel to and from Watersedge should alight and board at Cox Lane Bus Stop on Ruxley Lane .

The following bus stops will only be served heading towards Epsom:-

  • Alway Avenue
  • Scotts Farm Road
  • Cherry Way
  • Daleside Road
  • Poole Road
  • Danetree Road
  • Danetree Close

Passengers wishing to alight at the above stops, should remain on the service bus and wait for departure towards Epsom from Cox Lane Bus Stop

Kings Road, Shalford

From Monday 31 March, Kings Road in Shalford will be closed from the junction with Horsham Road to the junction with Station Road for approximately 3 weeks. This is for traffic calming works.

Compass/Metrobus service 32 will divert via Bramley, Wonersh and will rejoin the route normal line of route at the junction of Christmas Hill and New Road. The bus stop named 'Kings Road' in Shalford will not be served while the closure is in place.

High Street, Cranleigh

From 24 March, The High Street in Cranleigh is closed for overnight works at the roundabout junction of High Street, Ewhurst Road and Horsham Road and all three roads are affected by the closure. The roads will be closed between 8pm and 6am and the closure is expected to last three weeks.

The Stagecoach service 53 is diverting via Rowland Road, Parsonage Road and St. Nicholas Avenue.

The Stagecoach service 63 is diverting via Avenue Road, New Park Road, St. Nicholas Avenue, Parsonage Road and Rowland Road.

Station Road, Chobham

From Monday 17 March, Station Road in Chobham will be closed for 3 weeks due to culvert replacement works. The road will be closed by Foxhollow.

White Bus service 73 will be diverting via Philpot Lane and Chertsey Road for the duration of the closure. The service will not be able to serve stops at Benhams Corner, Village Hall and Sandpit Hall Road and the nearest alternative is Delta Road.

Bowes Road, Walton-on-Thames

Due to emergency gas works by SGN, Bowes Road, Walton-on-Thames (near the junction with Crutchfield Lane) is currently closed until approximately 13 April. As a result the Falcon 564 service is on diversion, and bus stops on Bowes Road will not be served.

In the meantime passengers are advised to use the next-nearest bus stops instead; those named "Stompond Lane" on Hersham Road, or those named "Walton Hospital" on Rodney Road.

Headley Road, Headley

Due to major highway repair and maintenance works by Surrey Highways, Headley Road, Headley (between the junctions with The Drive and Tilley Lane) will be closed for approximately 12 weeks from 3 March.

As a result of this closure, the Metrobus 21 service will be on diversion via Reigate Road, Mill Way and Leech Lane. The following bus stops in the Headley area will not be served whilst the service is on diversion: Tyrrells Wood, Headley Court, Hurst Lane, The Cock Inn and Broome Close.

High Street, Godstone

Due to a major sinkhole appearing in the carriageway, High Street, Godstone (between the junctions with A25 Oxted Road and Salisbury Road) has been closed from 18 February until further notice. Reports indicate the road will most likely remain closed for several months.

As a result of this closure the Metrobus 400, 409 and 410 services are on diversion and cannot use Godstone High Street. Passengers are advised to catch their bus from the "Godstone Green" bus stop (near the Needle's Bank public toilets) instead. In addition the 410 service will also be unable to serve the "Crowhurst Mead" or "Church Lane" bus stops on the A25 Oxted Road.

With regards to school services, the Metrobus 612 service for Oxted School will also be on diversion, and will be unable to serve the "Crowhurst Mead" or "Church Lane" bus stops on A25 Oxted Road. Passengers for this service should either catch the bus from the "Godstone Green" bus stop (near the Needle's Bank public toilets) or can alternatively catch the Metrobus 611 service to Oxted School from the "Crowhurst Mead" and "Church Lane" bus stops on A25 Oxted Road. Passengers should bear in mind that this service operates slightly earlier than the Metrobus 612 service, arriving at the "Crowhurst Mead" bus stop at 07:59, to arrive at Oxted School for 08:14.

Ash Church Road, Ash

There have been significant development works around Ash Railway Station and a new bridge has been built over the railway line which will help any traffic delays caused by the level crossing.

From Saturday 8th February, the new bridge that leads from Stonehill Road over the railway line will be opened and the Stagecoach service 20 will divert permanently down Stonehill Road and over the bridge to Foreman Road. The bus stops at Chester Road will no longer be served from this date.

There are further works taking place on the junction of Ash Church Road and Foreman Road from 8th February and while the works are in progress the Stagecoach 20 will divert via Foreman Road and Grange Road. Bus stops at Ash Railway Station and St Peters Church will not be served. The works are expected to last until the middle of April.

Victoria Way, Woking

From Sunday 26 January, due to an unsafe building affected by the high winds, Victoria Way in Woking is closed until further notice. Buses will divert via Goldsworth Road, Church Street West and Forge End. All stops will be served but there may be some delays because of the increased traffic in the area.

Portsmouth Road, Burntcommon

From Saturday 5 October contractors will be carrying out roadway improvements, including the installation of a new roundabout on Portsmouth Road. These works are expected to last until mid-April 2025.

The bus stops on Portsmouth Road, known as "Burnt Common Lane" will be suspended for the duration of the works. There is no safe location for a temporary stop.

National Highways works on A3 near RHS Gardens Wisley (Bus services 462/463 and 715)

Due to the demolition of Wisley and Cockcrow footbridges which cross the A3, the bus stops on the A3 at Wisley will be permanently closed and the bus stop on the Portsmouth Road at Ockham Roundabout will be temporarily closed from the last bus on Friday 23 February 2024.

From Saturday 5 April 2025, to access RHS Gardens Wisley, passengers can use White Bus service 462/463. This will use the new bridge and new bus stop at RHS Gardens Wisley so visitors have direct access to the Gardens. For timetables please visit our Woking area timetables web page.

A3 Portsmouth road closures

National Highways are carrying out major safety improvement works to the A3 Wisley Interchange (M25 Junction 10). As a result there will be a series of weekend road closures at this location.

This page will be updated as and when new closures are announced.

When closures are in place, the Falcon 715 service will only operate between Kingston and Cobham. The White Bus 462/463 service will not operate between Send Marsh Road and Ockham Roundabout, so bus stops in Ripley will not be served.

We would advise passengers wishing to travel on these services to also check the Falcon and White Bus websites for further updates.

Metrobus service 430 and 435

From 29 October 2022, Metrobus services 430 and 435 will not serve Royal Earlswood Park, Prince's Road and Earlsbrook Road due to operational issues until further notice. Bus stops along Woodlands Road will still be served as normal.
