Reclaiming property that has been removed from the highway

Property that has been removed from the highway will be stored by Surrey County Council at the closest depot. Where possible, the item(s) will be stored inside, but in most cases is likely to be stored outside.

If you have had property removed from the highway and would like to reclaim it, please complete our Property Recovery online form.

There is a fee of £79 per item, which covers the cost of administration and time taken to remove the item(s) from the highway.

The most common items removed from the highway are banners and advertising boards. Please see our webpage about banners and our webpage about advertising boards for more information on how to legally place these on the highway.
