Travel plans are required for all new large or expanding developments. In addition, travel plans may be requested for smaller developments where significant amounts of travel will be generated or will have an adverse impact on the locality.
Guidance on producing travel plans is available in our Travel Plan Good Practice Guide, which can be found at the bottom of the page and downloaded. It contains information about when a travel plan or a travel statement will be required, along with guidance about setting targets, travel plan content and monitoring.
Two travel plan templates are also available, which can be amended to suit planning need. Please refer to the Travel Plan Good Practice Guide when completing these.
