Digital Demand Responsive Transport
Digital Demand Responsive Transport (DDRT) service is a safe and reliable bus sharing service that will connect you to your local community.
We launched our first DDRT service in Mole Valley in 2021 and since the initial launch, the service has expanded across the county.
Consultation in winter 2022/2023 identified a number of bus routes in Guildford to be converted to a DDRT service. West Guildford DDRT launched 4 September 2023 as part of an expanded offer of five new DDRT areas. The service has been very successful to date.
Passengers can use the Surrey Connect service to travel from the West Guildford area to access key hubs. More information can be found on the DDRT project page, and journeys can be booked on the Surrey Connect webpage.
Guildford Park and Ride bus service
Guildford Park and Ride service allows drivers to park free of charge at locations just outside the centre of Guildford and pay to travel on all-electric zero emission buses.
Three locations around Guildford currently offer park and ride services, these include Artington and Merrow. The park and ride service at Guildford Spectrum has been suspended and will not operate until further notice.
More information on Guildford Park and Ride services can be found on the Guildford park and ride bus service webpage.
Bus Service Improvement Plan
As required by the National Bus Strategy, we have worked with Surrey bus operators to develop a Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) for the county. The updated BSIP outlines what we want to achieve through a Surrey enhanced partnership between us and the bus operators to improve services in Surrey, with the ultimate aim of increasing bus use.
This is a live document that will be updated once a year to include forthcoming bus improvements. To check what is currently proposed for Guildford please visit the Bus Service Improvement Plan for Surrey webpage, that will include the most up-to-date proposals for the area.
